Matthew Olmstead has previously served as both Secretary and Webmaster in the Penn State ASA Student Chapter, and is returning as the club’s Webmaster for the 2023-2024 year!
Matthew is a PhD student in the Acoustics department at Penn State. He completed his bachelor’s degree at University of Hartford in 2020, where he majored in Acoustical Engineering & Music with a concentration in Classical Piano. He is now conducting research in the Sound Innovation of Metamaterials and Biomedical Acoustics (SIMBA) lab led by Dr. Yun Jing, with a focus on photoacoustic imaging. Outside of the lab, he has sung in the tenor section as part of PSU’s Concert Choir!
