February Outreach

We had an incredible time at our February outreach events, bringing the world of acoustics and vibrations to life for some future scientists. We love sharing what we do with the next generation. Huge thanks to the schools for having the Penn State ASA!

ASA Philly Wayfinders Program

The ASA Philadelphia Local Committee is pleased to introduce an ASA Wayfinders program.   These Wayfinders will be student volunteers who will help point ASA attendees to registration, meeting rooms, socials, tours, and other events in and around the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott hotel.  This volunteer activity is sponsored by ASA’s Penn State Student Chapter.  

We need volunteers to fill spots each day during the Philly conference! Click here for more details and to express interest in the Wayfinders Program!

ASA Funding for Philly

If you signed up for travel funding for ASA Philly, keep an eye on your email for updates. At this point, anyone who signed up by the deadline is accepted by ASA PSU  – we are waiting on UPAC funding to confirm details.

Club Events

March 24 at 5pm – Volunteer at the PVEI STEAM Night outreach event on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Penns Valley Elementary and Intermediate School where ASA will be making popsicle stick harmonicas! Setup will run from 4:30-5 pm, and the event is from 5-7 pm. Feel free to sign up for as many time slots as you want! Contact Erin (een5106@psu.edu) with any questions! March 28 at 1:30pm – Volunteer at Penn State’s ENVISION Workshop supporting young women in STEM on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Setup will be from 12:45-1:30 pm, and ASA’s workshop will occur from 1:30-2:20 pm and 2:35-3:25 pm on campus in Huck 013. Lunch will be provided from 12:15-1:30 pm. Feel free to sign up for whenever you can! Sign up form has closed, as all volunteers were required to complete an online training prior to the event.
