Olivia is a PhD student in the Acoustics department at Penn State. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s of engineering at The Cooper Union in 2020, where she majored in mechanical engineering. Her master’s thesis was on using a microphone array for improved path estimation for active noise control. She is now a member of the Sound Perception and Room Acoustics Laboratory (SPRAL) under Dr. Vigeant. Her research focuses on the effects of noise on performance, listening effort, and perception. She enjoys crocheting during her free (and not-so-free) time, and she is also a member of the State College Choral Society, where she sings as a Soprano 1.
